Celebrations- Seasons Greetings at Southern Girls Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at Southern Girls Challenge and our theme is Celebrations.  Both teams are sharing their creations this time.  Our sponsors are

and

I got to work with a pretty image from Lacy Sunshine called Snowflake's Quality Control

After printing out the image, I die cut it with a Nellie Snellen oval die.  The fancy frame around it is die cut from silver mirror card.  The sentiment was also die cut from the mirror card.  The little snowflake was cut from grey card with a Wplus9 die and covered with Wink of Stella clear sparkle.  The PP has lots of snowflakes too and I added some gems to that.

Do hop over to the blog and join us to Celebrate!

Rock and Roll

I have to tell you about my Saturday....I went to see The Rolling Stones  - it was AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

The concert was originally set for March this year but was cancelled due to the death of Mick Jagger's girlfriend.   So the final night of the ’14 On Fire’ Tour was Saturday.

I have to say I like The Rolling Stones, but wouldn't say I was their biggest fan - that was till Saturday night... I have to say seeing the concert live was incredible.  I went with my daughter in law to be, her Mother and sister.... we took the bus (free) to the stadium and were standing in the General Admission on the field.  Could hardly see the band but there were three incredible big screens.

We started with a few drinks and nibbles first at home

The Stones played for over 2 hours... not too bad for a band of over 70 year olds.  I jived and dance the whole time and had an incredible time.  It really was an amazing experience.  Even Melissa and Brooke enjoyed themselves- dancing in the mosh pit -

So all in all a stunning night.   But left me feeling tired and with incredibly sore feet!   Standing for 5 hours was very tiring.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Wreath

Today I popped into my local Warehouse store in Milford to pick up some tape runner and notice they had some new Couture Creation dies.... some $10 some $15.  I simply couldn't resist getting a couple...

This is a card I made with a wreath die

CAS wreath.

It is a really intricate die but cut beautifully.  I went for a very CAS look.  The banner die is by Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment is white embossed.  I finished with some red gems and rounded the bottom corners.

The other die is a holly one and I also found a beautiful paper pad from Couture Creations

$10 for a 48 double sided papers... that's around 20c a sheet.  And they are really beautiful.  I will be working hard to try my hand at Shabby Chic with these papers.

Hope you all have a great weekend.... I'm off to see The Rolling Stones on Saturday night.   Excited much!   However there is a bit of a down side... Hubby can't go as he is flying down country to attend the funeral of his older sister's hubby.  Very sad, only 62.  Another victim of Cancer.   RIP Allan.

A little blue deer.

I told you I was addicted to magazines..... I love all the beautiful examples and just LOVE all the freebies.  Last week I got my monthly Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine and there were some lovely stamps and an embossing folder.

I CASE'd one of the cards from the magazine.

Blue Deer

I used some blue ink and embossed it with some Poly Sparkle powder.  I die cut the oval and sponged with some distress inks.  The scallop die was cut with some co-ordinations card stock and sanded.  The PP is from the kit that came with the magazine as well.

I've sold 2/3 of the cards I've made so I'll be working hard to replace them so I can send out some cards to my overseas friends.   Postage closes in 2 weeks if I want to guarantee delivery before Christmas.

Have an awesome week.

Baby card in a box,

I got a a commission this week to make a baby girl card in a box.  I was given free rein to do whatever I wanted.  I decided to go with a Vintage look so after a bit of searching around the 'net I found a digital site on Etsy called Digital Chick  which had a lovely set of old fashioned looking images.  I purchased one
Digital Clipart, instant download, vintage baby card images, baby girl, stork, lamb, stuffed bunny, digital collage sheet, 8.5by11, 1391

And here's what I made

The sentiment is a stamp from Fiskars.  The centre was a elephant so I masked it off and then added the little footprints from the set as well.  Once I'd printed out the images, I did lots of fussy cutting to add to the box.

Just a few more commissions to make and then some more Christmas cards as I've sold another 10 at work.  I'm involved in a number of card swaps this year and have a few cards to make for those.

Thanks for visiting.

More Freebies.....

Today I am sharing two cards I've made with some more freebies.  The stamp set is by Tiddly Inks and came with an embossing folder.  They came with my Quick Cards made Easy magazine.

tiddly inks dancer

This fist one I used some ideas from the latest Online Card class.  I used scrap paper to make my snow hills with distress inks.  I coloured the little girl with Copics.  I used distress inks to make my sky background.  I wanted to do some snow but don't have the snow stencil.  I made my own stencil with a Simon Says Stamp die called Falling Heart. I used some texture paste to make the snow.   The sentiment is a die from Britannia.

Tiddly Inks Christmas

This one, I used the Merry Christmas embossing folder together with the stamp and added a Cherry Lynn die - the lamp post. I finished up with some silver snowflakes cut with a WPlus 9 die.

I really needed to do these cards after finishing up 20 cards the same over the weekend.  I've got a pile of commissions from the ladies at work.  I took my Christmas cards in and sold 10 yesterday and 4 today.    The latest request was a box card for one lady's hubby.... and she requested Tanks!  Yeap... this one is challenging me!

Thanks for visiting me today.

Don't you just LOVE a freebie!

I'm addicted to crafting and cardmaking magazines and it's even better when they have a freebie with them.  I got the Australian Simply Cards last week and it had a fantastic detailed die cut sentiment.

In the magazine they used lots of blues and whites with the die so I gave it a go.

A blue Christmas

One of my colleagues saw it on Facebook and asked me to do a sample in red for her.  I did two different samples...

Happy Christmas

She liked the second one and has ordered 20!  So got a bit of a production line going on... folded the red card bases, cut the white panel and then embossed it. Added double sided tape.   Die cut the red pieces (Nellie Snellen die) then die cut the white sentiment pieces.  Now just to put them all together.   I've got a few commissions to do as well... two box cards and an exploding box for a 40th wedding anniversary.   will be kept busy for a while, so if I don't get time to leave you a comment, please forgive me. I will be visiting.

Hear it for my Boy.........

New challenge underway at Southern Girls Challenge today and it's a fun one.... Let's hear it for my boy...

A very CAS card... I used some awesome PP from DCWV.  It's all glittery and textured.  The sentiment is from Kaisercraft and is stamped onto Kraft card cut with a Lil' Inkers die.

This one is really for my boy.... I'm giving it to my son for his 26th birthday on Friday 13th.  I am really proud of my boy... the day after his birthday he is heading off to Nepal for a week to help a village in the Chitwan area, to build houses as part of Habitat for Humanity .  He has to pay his own way and has been fundraising to help.  His boss is also going with him as well a whole lot of others ( around 2000 people going to Nepal)  Wishing him well.  It's a chance of a lifetime.

Hope to see you join us of SGC with you boy cards and projects.

A striped card set....

At a recent craft fair, I bought a card kit from Close To My Heart that had card bases and the other bits and pieces to make 10 cards.  It was a Thank You set, but I decided I was going to to use it for Christmas cards.

I cut the cards in half to make a panel.  Two were added to Kraft bases and two onto cream bases.  The kit had silver sparkle pieces but I added some gold onto one of them.  All were embossed sentiments onto the black card. Stamps are from Kaisercraft and Bo Bunny

I'm entering this into the following challenges
City Crafter Challenge - stripes
Virginia's View - Metallics.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate all your visits.

A Christmas Tag

Do come join us at both challenges.... Die Cut Divas - Holiday Time and Anything Goes at Chalk'n'stock as long as you use Chalk on your card somewhere - chalks, chalk ink either will do!
